A single-page website design.
Cadence Bookkeeping, LLC wanted a website that would encourage visitors to learn more by contacting them or scheduling an appointment. So, we kept it simple with a single-page website design.
Throughout the development and design journey, we maintained a strong collaborative process with R. Burke, the owner of Cadence Bookkeeping, LLC. Our regular meetings and discussions ensured that our work was always aligned with her expectations.
With a basis in UX Design, we began with a low-fidelity wireframe (a simple mockup) on paper to visualize the layout direction. We then digitized it in Figma and tested its usability.

Since it is a single-paged website, the navigation links in the top menu anchor to specific page sections, allowing visitors to quickly jump to the section they are most interested in—simplifying their browsing experience.
As you can see in the wireframe, we planned for a hero image. However, we eliminated it to give focus to the tagline in the final version.
Once the wireframe was approved, we brought the website design to life.

The design of Cadence Bookkeeping, LLC’s logo.
As a bookkeeping company, the symbolism of an owl as a mascot was fitting, and R. Burke agreed. Drawing inspiration from a cast-iron bottle opener shaped like an owl, we illustrated it perched on top of a stack of books, symbolizing wisdom and knowledge.
The font for ‘Cadence’ is a neo-humanist sans serif typeface that emanates grace with a hint of playfulness, truly speaking to the brand’s personality. To balance the neo-humanist typeface, the font for ‘bookkeeping’ is a geometric sans serif. The letters are all uppercased to emphasize the fundamental importance of bookkeeping to any business. The same uppercased letters also act as a visual foundational support to ‘Cadence,’ which speaks to their value as a supportive business partner.

We leaned on the ‘cuter’ side in designing the logo to resolve the problem of marketing collateral trash. If others found Cadence Bookkeeping’s printed promotional materials, such as business cards and stickers, display-worthy or keepsake-worthy, then it would be more valuable to the recipient.
As a marketing company, we aim to reduce the amount of marketing collateral trash by rethinking its value. Together, we can reduce waste by printing less. If we have to print, let’s print flyers, brochures, booklets, etc., that bring value, purpose, or education to our recipients.
We’d love to help you strategize your marketing collateral.
Let’s connect.
We help guide the color story, typography, and messaging direction.
When uncovering the color story, we asked R. Burke to consider the colors she associates her business with. To standardize the colors across the web and print, we narrowed the colors down in Pantone. She chose a mellow navy blue balanced by a vibrant yellow.

Simultaneously, we help select web fonts that match the logo. We chose a sophisticated serif for the header text with an easy-to-read sans-serif for the body text.
Then, for the website’s copywriting, we provided R. Burke with our Marketing Framework and Messaging worksheet (included in The Starter package) to help her uncover all of the messaging basics.
Choose The Starter package under Reinforce Your Brand’s Foundation if you need guidance with your branding.
A testimonial to our work.
“Christine helped take out the guesswork every step of the way for creating my website. She took initiative for scheduling time to meet with me in more than one session so that the process was in workable bite-sized chunks. She makes it a collaborative process where she provides input, and she also takes in my feedback.
I appreciate Christine’s skills and gifts, and I acknowledge her steady unwavering support and sticking to a structure for completing work.
I also notice Christine’s attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and high level of quality that she puts forth. There is ease with the process, nothing feels forced, and that is to be commended!”

Our concluding notes.
Overall, a single-page website is great for businesses that aim to drive visitors to contact immediately. Often, the typical visitor comes onto a single-page website from word of mouth. The brief content is informative and drives immediate action.
*Please note that a single-page website is not for every business. If you want a stronger online presence, you will need multiple pages for Google to rank you higher.
